FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
St. Louis, Missouri The car of homegrown Old Hollywood actress Jean Harlow will display at the Museum’s upcoming Concours d’Elegance event on May 20, 2012.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1911, Harlow rose to fame quickly and costarred with the ever popular Clark Gable and Spencer Tracy.
Top film earnings kept the actress in the finest motoring luxuries. Shortly after her breakout role in Hell's Angels, she purchased the displaying 1931 Cadillac 370A Roadster V-12. The car was very impressive for the day and is even more awing in person. Girl from Missouri, Red Dust, and Reckless were among her other major credits. She was even tapped for the part of the screaming blonde damsel in classic “King Kong.”
Sixty other noteworthy vehicles will display alongside Harlow’s 1931 Cadillac at the Concours, including rare and early Duesenbergs, Pierce Arrows, Jaguars, Packards and select automobiles from the fifties.
The event runs from 10:00am to 3:00pm and is free and open to the public.
